Marvel.com released the above photo of Taylor Kitsch as Gambit today (click to enlarge). He looks great, but I’m surprised by the fedora. I suppose the brim gives him something to look out from under mysteriously. I like the decision to have him wear contacts that tint only his irises red. The traditional red-on-black would have probably been difficult to make look believable (not to mention uncomfortable).

I’m so excited about the Wolverine movie, but primarily because of Gambit. When I saw the Trailer and just could catch a glimpse of him at a poker table that was-…. arrr, I watched it after that numerous times.
But just like you the outfit surprises me… but even more the eyes. I mean, really, Gambit without black-red eyes? I’m skeptical but hey, I wait until I watched the movie before judging
Hope everything is understandable. I didn’t look up some phrases so I just hope they are right.

I’m pretty excited about the movie in general, though more about Hugh Jackman than Wolverine persay. ^_^
The limited scenes we’ve seen with Gambit so far look great. I think they’ve done an amazing job with powers that could have potentially looked really dorky (magenta glowing light and playing cards). The scenes with his staff gave me chills, and even the scene where he seems to telekinetically make the cards arc behind him was incredible.

Honestly, I was feeling a little blah about the new X-Men movie, its not been quite enough to entice my interest… then I saw this. Now, I want to see it pronto! I love Gambit… love him. I’ve been disappointed by his being left out of the other X-Men films. So glad to see he’s finally getting some much deserved love.

Xmen Origins was my favourite film in the series to date. Much more gritty…less made for teen audience. I was surprised as I had come to expect pretty average films in the series before it.
